I’m Sam — a cinematic wedding photographer and filmmaker capturing timeless, emotional stories across Gloucestershire, the South West and beyond. My approach is rooted in genuine moments, beautiful natural light and an analog-inspired aesthetic that feels honest, atmospheric and enduring.
I believe the most meaningful photographs aren’t posed or forced. They’re found in the quiet in-between moments — the laughter, the nerves, the fleeting glances — captured naturally as your day unfolds. By blending documentary storytelling with a cinematic eye, I create imagery that feels real, emotive and full of life.
My goal is simple: to tell your story in a way that feels true to you, creating photographs and films that don’t just show how your wedding looked, but how it felt.
My Background
My journey into wedding photography and film began with a love for storytelling and visual atmosphere. Long before weddings, I was drawn to cinema, music and imagery that evoked emotion — the kind that feels timeless rather than trend-led. That influence still shapes everything I create today.
Weddings bring all of that together. They’re fast-moving, emotional and beautifully unpredictable — a collection of fleeting moments that deserve to be documented with care and intention. I approach each wedding with a calm, unobtrusive presence, allowing space for real moments to happen naturally while quietly crafting images with depth, mood and meaning.
Every couple, every celebration and every story is different. That’s why I take time to understand what matters most to you, ensuring your photographs and film reflect not just how your day looked, but the people, emotions and atmosphere that made it unforgettable.
Being a wedding photographer allows me to combine so many skills I’ve picked up in the past – portraits, landscapes, product photography (details), as well as candid and posed shots. Even more, I get to be surrounded by love, joy and fun. I consider being in the inner circle of a couple on their wedding day to be an enormously enjoyable privilege, and telling a couple’s love story with film and photo is just the most satisfying thing I’ve ever found.

I’m a fur-daddy to my gorgeous German Shorthaired Pointer, ‘Starbuck’. And yup, you can tell by the name, I’m quite fond of coffee too.

Your experience of your wedding day comes above everything. If you’re not having a great time, then your photos will show it. And whilst taking great images is my job description, the part that isn’t quite so often talked about is how important it is to facilitate a great experience for couples.
Here’s what I’m brining to the party…
Joyful – I’m unstoppably up-beat, but easy-going, and I bring positivity and humour that will put you at ease and help you relax.
Sensitive – I know when to back off and capture things from a distance, and when to step in to direct you for the epic shots.
Authentic – I want you to remember how you felt, and so I like to work with movement and natural emotion to get great photos you can step back into.
Great Comms – I communicate clearly and effectively at all stages of the process.
Different
I like to create cinematic, film-like imagery. This means your photos and film will stand out from the crowd of vanilla wedding photography.
Colour is so important to me. I try to use natural colours but my edits resemble analog film and the colour is soft, warm and beautifully nostalgic. Tones that feel like a movie with you in the starring role.
Timeless – because analog film is such an established look, it’s unlikely to ever date or look bad. Fashions change but good colour is always good. In my films, I don’t use gimmicky transitions or effects that do date.
Your Story is what makes you different. And even though many wedding days follow a similar pattern, no-one has the same story. It’s my priority to capture the heart of your relationship celebrated through this single day by getting to know you like a friend.
